We've had Dell equipment for several years at work (long before I
came), and here's the summary:

1. Yes the service (1-day turnaround on parts or on-site) is great.

2. Servers have been pretty much rock solid.

3. Desktops and laptops are a POS. Most GX260-GX270-GX280 desktops and
many laptops are falling out like flies after 2 years in service.
Harddrives seem to last forever, but CPUs, Motherboards, Power
supplies, and of course capacitors are built with obselescence in
mind.

4. Sure, the service is quick and the form factor of the boxes (easy
to open, easy to service) is great, but who needs the headache with
crappy equipment.

5. Company contract is now with HP. Remains to be seen whether they
are any more reliable.
