Just a note to everyone, our lists are spam-free [at least they have
been for 8 years].
Collins, you received this spam because you have a clue email alias,
which he sent it to: crichey at cluedenver.org. This is forwarded to your
gmail account. Other people on the list who don't have email aliases
for clue won't get the spam message. I don't know how your crichey
alias was put onto a spammer list.
More importantly, even though he sent it to clue-tech at cluedenver.org,
the spam email gets caught by mailman because he's not subscribed to
clue-tech. We set up the email lists so that anything sent to the list
from a non-subscriber email is held for moderation. We automatically
delete the messages moderation queue.
There are actually hundreds of spam emails that go into the moderation
queue and never get sent to the list.
Finally, if you check the archives on the web site, you don't see any
spam. The archives only display emails that were successfully sent to
the list. Since no spam is delivered to the list [as shown in the
archives], it indicates that the moderation is working correctly.
