Yes, that's what you want.

The link above makes it clear you want Linux to be the PPPoE client.  So 
look for howtos on that.  And study the PPP side of your modem, you'll 
want to mimic it's behavior on Linux so that Qwest doesn't know the 
difference (the setup stuff in your Qwest book would be good to look at, 
as well as the Cisco docs on what it means).

And keep good notes so you can give a CLUE talk about the whole thing.

One thing that might be a challenge is that when the 675 has issues it 
tends to re-establish everything.  If you look at the logs it seems that 
each layer can tell the others when it goes up or down.  So it might not 
be as straightforward when one layer goes down for the other layers to 
do the right thing.

But that's a worry for later.  See if you can get Linux to connect to 
Qwest with PPPoE and then you can worry whether it's as reliable as you 
want.
