Are you putting 2.4 on an existing 2.6 system?

I run a box that had 2.4, got 2.6 (plus udev et. al.) added, and works 
fine.  Adding 2.4 should work as long as it pulls in all the things 2.6 
doesn't need (like modutils).

If you're putting 2.4 on a dual-boot, that shouldn't be any problem 
except in corner cases.
