Dan,
Can't say I'm familiar with the technical term "wonky" ... :)
Here's what I started with ...
http://mirrors.kernel.org/centos/5.0/isos/i386/CentOS-5.0-i386-bin-DVD.iso
I did the download via command line using wget as follows ...
wget -cvt 0 'http://mirrors.kernel.org/centos/5.0/isos/i386/CentOS-5.0-i386-bin-DVD.iso'
Verified the .iso of CentOS 5 DVD via md5sum ... all ok.
I built the virtual machine using this DVD .iso file on my ESX server.
I just ssh'd into my CentOS 5 machine & did your suggested commands. Here's the results.
Wish I could say I'd had good luck.
Should I reinstalling from scratch?
Is there a newer release of the CentOS 5 DVD that I should be using? The April 10, 2007 date
seems to be the most recent version of the DVD .iso file. I've been looking for packages to
do a manual patch in hopes of fixing these problems. No luck.
