I just wondered since the diversity of configurations I run is limited, and
I don't have any lockups at home - I did see the machine we use for
CLUE-Cert study group lock up - I ran glade, I believe, and the machine
locked up hard. I don't know the versions of OS/X/Gnome it was running; Jef
would probably know.
One aggravation I do have with my current config is that it takes multiple
tries to get X to run - something in KDE doesn't start up. I think it
actually may be because FreeBSD needs to load a module(s) that KDE uses - and it
doesn't load it fast enough for KDE? Dunno. In any case, it's one of the
reasons I don't restart much. And I don't leave X because I like the quick
access to my apps

The other, much more common, irritation with W2K: Explorer.exe will crash,
leaving you with no taskbar...you can still run, but sort of "crippled".
There was a point I can remember where this happened at least daily. The
box I have at work will restart explorer.exe a little while after a crash
- maybe a newer service pack?

This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for
complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the
philosophy is kindness.
