[clue-tech] Kubuntu 7.10 - Adept won't install anything

This weekend, my Xubuntu upgrade didn't go as smoothly
as hoped either. Not sure if it's related to your
problem but ubuntu-keyring failed to configure because
at some point I installed the 5.1 version of
libreadline in /usr/local/lib/ and it was overriding
the newly installed 5.2 version.  ubuntu-keyring
contains the digital keys for Ubuntu packages. 
(Without it packages can't be installed?)  Fixed this
problem by deleting libreadline* from /usr/local/lib/
and reconfiguring the dynamic linker via ldconfig.  I
think I'll compare my user installed files to the 7.10
repository and see what I can remove and install from
packages instead.

Other problems involve fixing lost desktop settings
(minor) and restoring my wireless.  The upgrade
overwrite /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist where I
blacklisted the prism2_usb module since it conflicted
with ndiswrapper.
