Anyone using this nifty device [or similar] with ubuntu?

I'm thinking of centralizing storage.  I've become more laptop friendly, but
I have too much data [and risk] to move it to a laptop.  This seems like a
cool way to shutoff my large server since I'm mostly using it for the disk
space.
