[clue-tech] First days with SabayonLinux

I decided to give SabayonLinux a spin after talking about it so long. I had
nabbed the DVD version, but was running into problems with the install, so I
grabbed the mini-version, fired it up, and had it install to hard disk. One
reboot later, and I had a functional SabayonLinux system up and running.

I was attracted to Sabayon for two reasons: 1) To try out a gentoo-based
system, and 2) because it looks very pretty. I've been emerging my basic set
of applications. Amusingly enough, these are all console-based, and I've been
doing this remotely, so I haven't experienced much of the prettiness. But I
have been having a blast anyway. :)

It can be a little trying to wait for emerge to build each app. I definitely
got used to how fast using a binary-based distro can be. But I figure if I'm
going to hop into Gentoo-land, I might as well do things the Gentoo way.
