The cool thing, too, is that it is easy to follow when using Debian/Ubuntu.
simply replace every instance of "emerge" with "apt-get install."

Hmmm... now that is an interesting idea. I feel a hankering to try out a
different distribution. I've been using Ubuntu for quite a while now, and
every now and then I like to stray. (That's one of the reasons I ended up
switching from Debian to Ubuntu, actually.) I was going to try Sabayon Linux,
but it is very flaky on my hardware.
