[clue-tech] Postfix / Spam Expertise Request

Hi Folks.

I'm looking for a volunteer to help CLUE with e-mail management. I don't
envision a long-term commitement, though that would certainly be
appreciated. While those of us who work on our server issues can
certainly RTFM on Postfix and SpamAssassin, doing so does not supply the
judgement that comes with experience. From the reading I've done so far,
certainly some things appear to be useful, and others less so, but I
honestly don't know. Some articles are clearly out-of-date. It's a lot of
material to wade through, and neither I, nor the other admins, have test
environments to work in. So, rather than risk crippling the CLUE mail
processing through learning by doing, I'd prefer to get someone involved
who has solid real-world experience.

Our current environment is plain-vanilla Postfix running on CentOS, with
no filtering in place other than the Mailman mailing lists set to discard
messages from non-subscribed e-mail addresses. The president e-mail
address gets flooded with spam. I don't know the spam volume for other
addresses. Also, our outgoing mail sometimes gets blocked for message
rate. Some of that could be for spam on the president address, but at
least some is for real mailing list traffic.

If anyone would care to volunteer, even for just some initial
consultation and advice, please contact me directly, off-list.

Thanks,
jed
