[clue-tech] Firefox 3+ problem on Ubuntu

I am happily running firefox on my superb Ubuntu desktop, but commonly 
run into problem when accessing sites, cnn, mlb, espn, many which have 
flash videos.  Soon as I hit the site Firefox exits swiftly leaving me 
with a hope and a prayer. 

through the package manager i uploaded and installed konqueror, epiphany 
web browser, sea monkey and opera, but don't encounter these problems. 

with ff I have installed many add-ons including web developer, yslow, 
scrapbook, firebug, several there.  someone (sorry forgot your name) at 
installfest said it could be a codec problem. 

i'd like to know if there is a logfile that can help trace the problem 
and if so, what to look for.
