Those two statements don't really go together. The 2nd doesn't disprove
the first, because there's way more to it than ease of use. If it were
*actually* ease of use, then we would be seeing much more usage of Linux
on the desktop. There's networks effects, momentum, hysteresis,
advertising, etc. to factor into it.

Most desktop users want an appliance, not a computer. And when they go to
the appliance store, what's available is 100 different varieties of
Micro$oft toasters. Redmond works hard to make sure this is the case.
