Hey all...
I have an older Sony Laptop that is a PCG-C1VPK (similar to this
http://www.kevinboone.com/picturebook.html) that I'm trying to get
Fedora 9 working on. So far, I've gotten everything working great except
for the sound. I'm positive it worked before I replaced the HD and I
re-checked the connections and everything seems ok internally but there
is still no sound.
It's running pulse audio and everything looks ok. I can see the vu
meters working and it looks like it's outputting sound. FYI the chip set
is a Yamaha ds-13 ymf754 so it's definitely something that should be
supported under Linux.
Does anybody have any experience with that particular chip set and pulse
audio? Does anybody know of a bootable cd (or something in fedora) that
will test sound at the lowest level?
Lastly if I can't get this to work does anybody know if any of the usb
sound "cards" work under Linux? I'm looking at this
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0219416
one hoping that for $13 my problem will be fixed and I can move on to
myth/squeeze center.
Thanks!
Chris
