Who reboots anymore? ;-) I just close the lid on my MacBook and it
goes to sleep. If the battery gets too low, it wakes up just in time,
and hibernates.
(And while I wish I could force it to just hibernate, I must admit, it
"just works" for the 80/20 rule. When I need to KNOW it's not using
power, I do shut it down Its boot time smokes everything else in the
house.)
Heh heh... designed for users, not for devs. No "volunteer" excuses
either.
Back to Linux... I never boot the servers, and that's all I'm using
Linux for these days... they only boot if the UPS runs out or the
hardware watchdog device notices they're not answering pings on the
local LAN for whatever reason. (I have to be careful with how long the
switch/router is unplugged if I have to rearrange cables! haha...)
