I don't remember all the details, but I think the creation of /media
in place of /mnt is the fault of the LFS bunch. For some reason, they
wanted to promote /mnt as a single, temporary mount point, instead of
a directory like the new /media. It wan't broke, and they fixed it
<grin>.
