We had a very successful installfest.  About 20 people came and I found out how to get a solid end 
time for our north meetings.  I guess maybe we didn't get enough pizza for lunch so I'll do better 
next time.

Bill has an 8.04 system he uses for a machinist app.  We were able to fix an updater issue (by 
removing the unavailable packages, since they weren't needed).  We also fixed a lack of sound.  I 
was surprised because sound is one of those black magic parts of Linux.  But it turned out there was 
a driver backport available and that was all it took.

Bill, did you get CUPS working to your printer at home?

I meant to write a longer summary but the time has gotten away from me (and why don't I have a blog 
yet to keep this stuff on?)
