Updates on this problem:
- Don't know if I mentioned it, but this problem is on two identical brand new systems.
- The systems work perfectly with other NICs.
- The onboard NIC will link at Gb full-duplex if I leave the cable out while the system POSTs.
- Unfortunately, they're dropping packets like mad...
Someone asked for $(/sbin/ifconfig). Here that is:
