[clue] [tech] Asterisk in a virtual machine, timer, timing, & real time clock questions

In virtualbox they are installed as "guest additions" and the daemon
is called /usr/sbin/VBoxService.  They are installed using a virtual
cdrom available under the device menu for the virtual machine.  I
don't have vmware at hand and cannot tell you exactly what they are
called there but the mechanisms are much the same.
