As one other poster replied, dive right in if you want to do
something. Perhaps you haven't been actively involved in the
development and testing of putting up a new website. Let me point out
a few details, and then you can go back to kibbitzing from the
sidelines.

* The effort to put up drupal to replace the current website took lots
of meetings, lots of blood sweat and tears and nighttime work, and a
hell of a lot longer than 3 weeks.

* The multiple versions came about due to actions of the previous
sysadmin for our server site. The group working on the code never
requested this action directly. The same sysadmin decided to tear
everything down, and we scrambled to retain the pieces.

* After working out many of the kinks in the new system, we put it up
for general use. Probably not the best decision. It looked good, but
failed miserably. Without full understanding of just exactly how our
server was created and maintained, we floundered trying to understand
the problem. Other volunteers jumped in to help.

* At that point, the decision was made to revert temporarily to the
old site while work continued on the new site.

* As of today we have resurrected the site on a new host, and we will
stress test the system and monitor for any new problems.

The word volunteer should appear multiple times above. That's the
heart of floss. If you're not a part of the teamwork, it's rather
petty to criticize those who are.
