[clue] Website testing

I just started to poke around a bit and found the site to be *very* slow. Since we are technical folks and "very" is a near meaningless form of measurement, this is what I have found. Average page lot time seemed to be about five seconds, unless the link went to an external site or 404'd ( http://www-dev.cluedenver.org is very responsive ). To further quantify what I witnessed I went to a few speed testing sites and have summarized their finding below. I hate to call the 4.4 second response time a fluke... but it really seems to be. Personally I feel any page with over a two second response time is too slow. Perhaps drupal is not the right choice for CLUE, has any looked into Wordpress, Typo3, etc?
