Senior Database Administrator, DIS group

Webroot is currently seeking a Senior Database Administrator, MSSQL. The
DBA will be a member of the Webroot Data & Information Services team,
responsible for production database administration support across various
datacenters around the globe.

This job requires the administration and maintenance of MSSQL databases. If
you are a seasoned database administrator with strong administration skills
related to managing large databases, Webroot invites you to send us your

Responsibilities:

• Perform Administration responsibilities of OLTP & OLAP Databases for the
Data & Information Services Group using MSSQL 2005 & 2008 R2
• Perform performance monitoring and health analysis of OLTP & OLAP
Database systems on MSSQL 2005 & 2008 R2
• Perform design, analysis and architecture of Data & Information services
• Formulates and documents database policies, processes, procedures, and
standards relating to data & information services to facilitate work across
multiple applications throughout organization
• Builds and maintains strong, trusting relationships with non-technical
users, as well as with technical peers in software development roles, in
identifying database performance gaps and emerging opportunities, and
addressing user needs and issues
• Interface with the Database Architect, Database Analytical and Database
Development Groups to ensure proper design, configuration of database
objects in support of database administration
• Interface with and Support QA, Development and other stakeholders as
appropriate in support of Enterprise Data Development process and
Configuration Management practices
• Monitors database activity/performance and create periodical operational
status reports (qualitative and quantitative)
• Identifies maintenance and enhancement issues relating to database design
and integration with new and existing applications and systems
• Performance tune databases and SQL statements in connection to OLTP &
OLAP code as required
• Perform database system deployments and maintenance as necessary
• Perform on-call duties on a rotating basis, if needed


Required Administrative Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of overall OLTP & OLAP Databases Administration experience
• Hands-on experience with MSSQL 2005/2008 R2 database systems
administration under database mirroring/replication/clustering environments
• Experience with MSSQL Service Broker, SSIS, Analysis/Reporting Services
technologies
• Strong ability to diagnose DB system issues and SQL performance tuning
and recommend solutions
• Analyze, define, and document system requirements/configuration for DB
systems
• Experience benchmarking and evaluating database hardware and software
configurations
• Advanced organizational, analytical, problem solving and documentation
skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Additional DBA skills with Data & Information Services
design/architecture knowledge is desirable
• Knowledge of Cloud Based - SaaS applications is desirable
• Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly
• Comfortable in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment


Desired Administrative Skills:

• Knowledge of Windows operating system skills
• Knowledge of QlikView dashboard/reporting tools
• Knowledge of Nagios, Idera SQLDM and other monitoring tools
• Latest upcoming technologies like SQL Server 2012, SQL Azure
• Windows Cluster Services
• VM Ware
• Amazon Web Services
• Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley, Payment Card Industry (PCI), Service
Operations Control (SOC) and SAS 70 security audits

Education & Certifications:

• 4 Year Technical Degree (Example: BSCS, BSEE, etc.)
• Microsoft Certified preferred
