OK, some follow-up questions, restricting my inquiry to Wacom. 
Do you use a Wacom device under Linux? If so... 
Which model do you have? How long have you had it, in years? How much have you used it, in hours? 
What do you love or hate about it? 
Does it sync the screen to the drawing surface? 
How much did it cost? 
Does it prefer fingers or stylus/stylii?
