Hey Mike
TinkerMill seems like a really great group.
It is too far away for me to attend meetings.
Maybe I can get involved in some way.
Best to you and the group. Please post more pictures / videos of your place and activities.
Gus

Hi Gus,

Dr. Liu is a regular at our Longmont, TinkerMill hackerspace. He is also in the process of donating some hardware to us.

We had an arduino class this weekend, and he showed up talking about pcduino.

He attended an IoT meetup ( in Denver, CO ] I arranged and he gave me a pcDuino.
I am checking it out now.
If it turns out to be good, I will switch from Raspberry Pi and BeagleBone Black to pcDuino.

His name is Dr. JengFeng Liu ( I am not sure if the first and last are reversed )
http://www.pcduino.com/         http://www.linksprite.com    <==== home of pcDuino
also has lots of sensors and add-on boards
Dr. liu JingFeng designer and owner jingfeng, liu at linksprite.com

Very fun and energetic guy..... based in Longmont, CO and China.
He plans to make a pcDuino that is stripped down ( headless ).
He says he has Scratch running on the pcDuino along with Python , VNC , SSH , etc.
His company also has add-on boards.

Arch = What the heck? Uh... Oh. Oh, I see. I'll just come back to this, then.
Bodhi = HOLY CATS! This is stunning! I haven't used anything this pretty since... Since the last time I used Enlightenment.

ArchLinux as actually my distro of choice :) One of the fastest leanest distro's I've ever used.

I'm a big fan of Arch myself. E17 is pretty and all but it's weird in the way it handles multi monitor setups at least the last time I used it ~6months ago

David,

I actually run Arch on my desktop. One of their best features, even if you
don't use Arch, is their wiki. Having a rolling updated distribution, I
find it great but you have to be willing to deal with the downsides. I
can't tell you how many times I have run into strange new dependencies,
broken updates in the Arch User Repos and sometimes just strangeness
overall. I find Arch to be exciting as it is always on the bleeding edge
and the wealth of knowledge on the wiki is great.

As for Bodhi, I love it as a VM image. It is so light and quick that it
works very well. I don't use Enlightenment as a desktop manager so I find
a direct switch to it a bit difficult. However, when spinning off light
weight graphical VMs, it is perfect!

Dan
