Sr. Engineer (Security) for a 6 Month Contract-to-Hire opportunity in the Denver Tech Center. 

The Sr. Engineer will work within the InfrastructureSecurity team to provide logical security for the service provider network, including network,server, firewall, user and application security aspects. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to communicate effectivelywith all levels within the company. 

• Excellent planning and organizational skills with ability to engineer business solutions in adynamic environment. 

• Excellent time management, communications, decision making, and presentation skills. 

• Must possess the flexibility to work in an unstructured, ambiguous and dynamic environment. 

• Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. 



Technical Qualifications: 

Senior Systems Administrator/Engineer with a good understanding of network storage and network security 

• 7+ years experience in Service Provider Network. 

• 7+ years experience administering Linux Servers, Bind, Sendmail, Postfix, Apache, MySQL, 

PostgreSQL, OpenLDAP, NetScape/Red Hat/Sun One Directory Server, RADIUS, 

TACACS+, X-Windows, VNC, Syslog-NG, NTP, etc. 

• 5+ years experience developing in Perl and Bourne shell. C/C++ experience a plus. 

• 5+ years experience managing firewalls, Juniper Netscreen and SRX platform preferred. 

• 5+ years experience managing Juniper and Cisco routers and switches. 

• Functional understanding of GPS-based NTP technology, including setup and troubleshooting. 

• Functional understanding of the following technologies – TCP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6, Multicast, 

IPSec, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, MPLS-based Layer 2/3 VPN, VoIP and Transport Systems, 

RADIUS, TACACS. 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
