[clue] Ubuntu LTS16.04.1 won't print

Hi-
I am a low skilled Ubuntu user and need help with getting my HP laser 
jet pro P1102w printer to print with my newly downloaded Ubuntu 16.04.1 
LTS. The printer worked well with the previous LTS version. The issue 
was researched and hplip 3.16.7 was downloaded and resulted in an error 
message that says something to the effect" there is a printer error". 
Several troubleshooting routines from the net were tried to no avail. 
The printer was moved to another computer running Mint 17.3 and it works 
just fine. Can anybody out there help to get the printer functioning?
