This article seeds the rumor that sendmail will no longer be an open
source project. The last time I checked I thought that the GPL didn't let
authors rescind their software or is that only dependant on version
numbers? Say for example I write a piece of software called 'Yet Another
Simple X Calculator' and YASXC takes off and everyone starts using it, we
make tshirts and they sell out and then I get some vulture capital to add
features like division and subtraction and I go IPO. Now that I'm not
selling any copies of YASXC++ like my shareholders expected me to I'm
pulling the plug on the community developed version.

Do I get to do that? Or am I doing more than just pissing users off?
