Postgres would definitely handle this. The ODBC drive is good, but for
optimal performance, I would say you need to get the newest ODBC
driver. I will check and see if I have it. I would definitely reccomend
7.1 for Postgres, because it is faster and cooler than the older
versions. Admin on that can easily be scheduled with cron.
I don't have time to work on it, but if whoever does it does use Postgres,
I have all the stuff they need, and I will share. (Backup/Vacuum scripts,
newest ODBC driver for Win32, Tarball of source for 7.1.1, sneaky
install helping scripts, etc.)
Just one condition on my sharing: Share back with me your experiences and
new stuff you make. Gee, just like the GPL. Cool, huh?
