Howdy jim (long time),
Yeah, i agree. while gphoto works well with all these things, i cheat and
simply use my sandisk/sddr-31 CF rw. It is much easier to do that. Baring
that, I have actually thought of grabbing some of those cheap 640x480/$25 and
see if they do a USB MSD. I was thinking that it was the perfect approach for
kids or simply having a camera around for quick shots (when you paid 1500 for
a camera, you tend to not expose it to the elements)
