> So you have RSS feeds by topic already? And a freetagging system?

I had an email list that worked like an RSS feed. Then I changed hosting
and found it nigh-impossible to get my user list and transfer to the new
host.

I don't like freetagging. I mean, it works great for flickr, they have a
million billion pictures. Having the users go through and put them into
categories is a great idea. Especially since the text medium and the
visual medium require human intervention for categorizing something like
that. But we have a much smaller library here, (1200ish works), and it's
just text. That search library mentioned earlier would probably be the
best add-on. But until then, I have a list of tags the user can choose
from when uploading their story.

...companies that can afford to hire fulltime people to implement features
and insure that it stays up and running? ;-)

This is the main reason I'm shy about using something like Drupal. I was
looking at the "Top 10 ways a Developer can send a Drupal project to Hell"
list, and if I wanted to use it well I need to:
Learn the API and go over all the functions
Learn how to make modules
Learn the hook system
Learn the template.php
Learn the forms.api

Ye cats man.

It's a hobby site. Currently I'm fortunate enough to pull in a little
money on the side from it. But when I get home from work, I have 1 hour of
free time before going to bed (12 hour shifts). For this site update, I'm
using vacation time so I can sit down for a few days and focus on learning
CSS and implementing it.

Well, I am trying to update the design of the site. Although you guys have
been great at suggesting ways to improve the functionality of the place,
that's not really what I was asking for. :-( And the reason I haven't
given out the URL is that it's a porn site, something I'm not comfortable
in giving.

Sigh. A co-worker just loaned me a CSS book he's been going though. When I
asked him if it was any good, he just laughed.
