Just to clarify, "freely as in beer" Linux cannot offer the MP3/DVD
stuff.  If you pay for it, then they can pay to license it and offer
it.

Also, PhotoShop is not "easy", and GIMP is not hard - I personally
would reverse your ranking.

And just to add a little gas to the flame, especially now with their
intel offerings it won't be "MS beating Linux" it's going to be "Apple
beats both MS and Linux" on the Desktop.

MacOSXPPC - more powerful than Windows, doesn't require Linux savvy,
takes a home equity loan to buy.

MacOSX86 - faster, cheaper, more portable, a Tux Killer.
