Well, I can use a soldering iron, but for 'shinin', it'd be a MAPP gas
torch.

As for reflux vs. pot, I guess it depends upon how carefull you want to
be in capturing volatiles. And some of those contribute flavor. Some you
want to keep out as much as possible.
