gateway electronics. About 26th/Federal. You could try Fistells on Bannock
(?). Also www.eio.com.

For that matter, RadioShack should be able to set you up with a 555 chip.
IIRC, the 555 (maybe the 556) can easily be configured to be a tone
generator -- they're programmable oscillators, essentially. The 556 is
just two 555s on one chip. RS has a book o'circuits, and you really don't
need to understand the innards of the chips to make them work.

I'll dig in the basement -- it's only a few layers down, I'm pretty sure,
and see if I can find the book to bring to the mtg. tonight.
