Yeah, you aren't kidding about the OpenBSD install. FreeBSD is pretty
slim at install time, so I expected OpenBSD to be small, but wow. I started
a net install from floppy for the OpenBSD install, and it was done before I
could even think about running off and doing something else. On a similar
machine (Pentium I, 100Mhz), Redhat 7.2 took 20+ minutes (and a CD swap, no
less) to install, and that was AFTER I manually deselected lots of frivolous
things. For some reason, Redhat wants to install things like lame and
vorbis and other sound and/or GUI stuff for a *server* install, IIRC.
Ridiculous. If I wanted that sort of functionality (sound, GUI, etc) on a
server, why not pick W2K? Well, not taking into account all the rebooting
and the M$ tax that W2K would require?
