Actual hardware failures.  The salesman in question had a KDS, for
example, where the bezel (?) was misaligned and thus the image tilted
on screen.  No amount of adjustments from KDS support could correct
the problem, so the unit had to be replaced, obviously under warranty,
but a pain-in-the-keister nevertheless.

Yes, dot pitch, and I've always heard that smaller is better, but I
can't tell you the difference.

Yes, Santa will be doing you a good deed.  My version of Santa has
been drooling over the flat panel monitors which don't take up quite
as much real estate, but then Santa has too many bills at the first of
the year, so he may have to wait for the Valentine cupid or the Easter
bunny!
