Sort of ... if all the machines run x-apps and export their displays to
the 'main' machines x-server, you need no switch.  You could even run
vnc on windoze boxes, but it only works when x is working on the
headless machines - console output and such is sort of lost, and
troubleshooting/initial install is a bit tough without a switch.
