[CLUE-Tech] filesystem help

Good evening folks..

I have a /var filesystem that is running out of
inodes.
I want to tar up /var, remove and recreate it with
approx 9,000,000 inodes
Then restore the /var info

Is this going to be an ugly mess or ??

I am not sure of the steps..
Does this need to be done from the console..

Can someone offer any steps or guidelines?
