I worked with ASP a bit with Visual Interdev in 1999. I got my boss to buy
Visual Interdev and we installed IIS/Windows and our department used it because
of these special controls and wizards that do all your work for you.
We used them for 2 days. And found they didn't work very well. So we were
stuck hardcoding things in ASP by hand which looks just like PHP or ColdFusion
or...and Visual Interdev became a very glorified text editor for us.
Remember multi-tasking in Windows95? It was great for marketing and beta, but
not so great when people tried to actually use it. I think you should make sure
that the Datagrid and other controls like that work and are flexible enough and
don't cause 60KB web pages before you commit a project to them or look for an
alternative solution with similar "features".
