Yep. I have also been a teacher, and I know exactly what you mean. And
sometimes it's due to their own mental blocks, but sometimes the
directions are--objectively speaking--really not all that clear.

  Side note: In fact, I think the Mailman interface is quite confusing
  to someone who is unfamiliar with it. Even I sometimes get confused by
  it when I'm tired or distracted.

So: patience, patience.

Granted, we're all just a bunch of volunteer Linux geeks here, and
shouldn't be held to the same standards as a professional educator. But
we should all keep in mind that real communication is usually harder
than we think it is.
