Just have to weigh in on this. I support Plesk and cPanel where I'm
working and I wouldn't wish cPanel on Bill Gates.

In that Plesk and cPanel are both web-based interfaces that allow
inexperienced users to do most everyday tasks on Linux, they're similar.
That's pretty much the limit, though. Plesk is designed with security in
mind, and the company that does support for Plesk is very professional
about deploying updates and their end-user docs are top-rate.

cPanel, on the other hand, deploys updates in what I consider a pretty
haphazard fashion -- in addition to deploying new features more or less
randomly. Might be nice if you're an end user, but it's a nightmare from
the support standpoint. cPanel isn't particularly secure, either. Their
end-user docs are sub-par.

All things being equal, I'd much rather support a "bare" Linux box
without either one -- but if I had to take one, I'd choose Plesk
hands-down.

Good luck choosing a company!
