If you don't need the 2.6 kernel and the other things from FC2, why
not use FC1?  Or one of the RHEL forks like
http://www.whiteboxlinux.org?

I want more bleeding edge stuff (in my case it's for a soundcard that
I coulnd't get to work under the OSS/2.4 setup) I use FC2, other than
that Whitebox seems like a much better option.
