I'd call both of these "hacking society".  People will bring projects of 
varying size and interest, other people will help with them.  "Help me 
build the new CLUE website" and "help me make my wireless card work" are 
both reasonable projects.

My take: there's a lot of interest in something south and west.  So 
someone find a space, take 1st and/or 3rd Tuesdays, and call it done. 
The space can change as better space is found.

There's also the study group on 4th Tuesdays.  If south and east is 
better for you (or you don't mind it and need a weekly vice monthly 
fix), come on by!
