If you are looking at installing Linux for the first time, I'm now suggesting Ubuntu and not SuSE anymore (no offense to the SuSE users on this list) ... I've been using linux for years now and, while I think I've tried every distro out there, have generally moved from RedHat --> Mandrake --> SuSE (and ran SuSE from 8.2 up and until 10.0) --> Ubuntu and I must say for a first-time distro I can't say enough good things about it. It's the only distro that's not skipped a beat on my laptop(s) and home system(s) hardware-detection-wise and I don't have to fiddle with the command line as much ... not that I can't I just don't have the time anymore.

You might try downloading and trying that out ... I"m very very happy with it and have converted all my systems over ... Plus the ubuntu community (at ubuntuforums.org) is *VERY* helpful ... the howto's and levels of assistance are written at the easy-to-understand level not the i-have-been-using-linux-for-years-and-why-don't-you-just-use-the-commandline-and-be-done-with-it-or-just-rtfm level.

Just my 2 cents worth..
