Can't this be said for *multiple* distros?  I know many of the
mainstream ones don't contain web browser plugins, mp3 support, sun's
java, etc.... you gotta go 3rd party to get them all (and such is the
care with Ubuntu, you go to the universe / multiverse repos and
*surprise* there they are!)  So, other than the hardware issues (which
we all know, hardware support varies from linux distro to linux
distro .. what works with one doesn't necessarily work with another) I
call BS on that quote.
