[clue-tech] Thunderbird & IMAP

I'm running Thunderbird 2.0 against my CentOS 3.X system, which runs
Sendmail with IMAP and POP3 support enabled. I also have a blackberry
which uses POP3 and polls the server every 15 minutes or so I've found.
But what happens is that my blackberry seems to take a hold of my
mailbox so that even if I leave Thunderbird on 24/7, I'm unable to get
new messages on it. I can click the Get Mail button all I want, and no
new messages appear - and I also don't get an error message telling me
I'm not getting them. If I don't take my phone out of my pocket, I
would have no idea I have new mail. I have to shutdown Thunderbird and
reopen it to get my messages.

This is a massive pain in the you know what for me, and I haven't found
a good work around for it. Does anybody out there have a similar
situation or a possible work around?
