Thanks Jed,

             I did that simple line of code on the command line, and 
removed skype and a couple of other useless programs. It was so fast! 
That was immensely satisfying. I feel like Luke Skywalker on the 
Millenium Falcon, when Obi-Wan Kenobi tells him, "you've just taken your 
first step into a new world." As far as my comment about Linux, I was 
joking about the real or perceived difficulty level.
