[clue-tech] intermittent mouse functionality

My wife used my Ubuntu 9.04 installation briefly, and now my mouse does 
not function properly.  The left button is more often than not 
unresponsive.  I tried a new mouse, logging in as a different user, and 
installing (and using) a different window manager.  Even now, I tried to 
click Send from Mozilla Thunderbird and it did not register.  I will 
have to click CTRL-Send to send, right n
