Been there, done that.  Got the t-shirt, mug, gym bag, and mouse. :-)

If you're thinking about leaving the private sector for defense work let's have a beer and you can 
hear the hardened cynic's opinions.  (Which isn't to say you shouldn't make that sort of move but 
I'm really happy to be out of there (and less so when I work with clients who are government or 
higher ed).)

Yes, you should.  It's tedious but isn't hard and you want to be able to go for any job when your 
current project winds down.  If nothing else it makes you more competitive with the competition, 
which allows you more choice of jobs bargaining power.

Willson doesn't work for Raytheon so he's out of luck.  Don't wind up like him because you were lazy 
(even if that would be a big step up).
