Title:         Senior/Lead Linux Systems Engineer
Location:  Mayfield Village, OH and Colorado Springs, CO
Duration:  6 Month Contract-to-Hire

The Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) Infrastructure Resource
Services (IRS) organization is seeking an IT System Engineer in
Cleveland or Colorado Springs with distributed systems Linux operating
system engineering and support experience. The IRS organization is made
up of a dedicated resource supply for all governance approved projects
originating in ETS and other areas of the business requiring ETS
specific skills sets. The role will be for project-based assignments
that are approved by the Governance process. These assignments will
augment our current IT System Engineering staff in provisioning
server-resources to meet project demand requirements. The contractor
hired will join a team of over 20 System Engineers, both contractors and
fulltime employees. Each member of the team is assigned to one or more
projects. At times, several work together on the same initiative.

Required skills:
The preferred candidates must have several  years’ experience in two or
more of the following:

    • Experience in a medium to large scale server environment.
    • Linux Operating System (RHEL)
    • Web Application Services (HTTP, Java, SSL, Tomcat, Weblogic)
    • File Sharing & Storage Admin (Automount, LVM, NFS, RAID) Kernel &
    System Configuration (Ksplice, LKM, modules, proc/sysfs, sysctl),
    • Networking Technologies (Bonded Interfaces, Load Balancing,
    TCP/IP, VLAN's),
    • Troubleshooting Tools (log analysis, io/mp/net/vmstat, OSWatcher,
    sosreport, tcpdump),
    • Server Provisioning and Software Distribution (Anaconda, scripted
    installations/configurations, rpm/yum) Security(iptables, OpenSSH, PAM)


Preferred Skills:

    • Oracle Clustered File System
    • Linux Operating System (Oracle)
    • Oracle on Oracle (AIO, ASM, HugePages, kernel params & resource
    tuning)


The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and
communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with
others at all levels. This is project work and the candidate will be
part of a project team with responsibility for distributed
infrastructure (Linux). Working closely with the project team and with
others in IT is key to success of this individual to deliver on projects
– strong collaboration skills are a must. Strong technical aptitude and
proven analytical skills are required. The selected individual must be
able to demonstrate the ability to understand technical requirements.
The candidates must be able to understand and work with internal
project-level documentation, project deliverable deadlines, attend
project meetings, and participate in any project planning meetings.
